Missouri loves company. Well, companies love Missouri anyway. Here are some great examples of marketing and communications that I spotted while traveling to and from Jefferson City for the American Counseling Association’s conference where I presented Practical Promotion for your Practice.
Stella Artois
“Less a glass, more a display cabinet.” This simple billboard by Stella Artois, abides by my rules for effective billboards. It creates a visual speed bump; you take notice of the simple imagery and the text is easy enough to read from a passing vehicle. The message reinforces the brand image that Stella Artois is striving for, that of a more luxury beverage. Although, I was disappointed to see this error message on their website (even when I clicked on “home”).
Staples
There were two effective messages on this Staples truck. The appropriate tie in with the easy button is obvious, “Someone pushed it. We’re on our way.” The message on the lower left corner intrigued me as well. “Top speed set at 60. It saves fuel & reduces emissions.” A quick glance at Staples.com did not reveal a green company, but every bit helps.
